Maastricht, 26 November 2024 - After a successful return season in 2024, in which it secured nine class victories, Team RaceArt will once again be part of Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux in 2025 with an expanded, three-car effort. Sam Jongejan and Jules Grouwels will again form the core of the driver squad, with the final name in the lineup to be confirmed at a later date.

This year, the Maastricht-based squad returned to the highly competitive one-make series after a multi-year absence and made an immediate impact. With drivers Sam Jongejan and Jules Grouwels the team captured nine class victories, ten further podiums and five pole positions. The team fought for championship titles in both the Rookie and Pro-Am categories until the final day of the campaign and finished runner-up in both categories.

RaceArt will compete in the Carrera Cup Benelux for the second consecutive season in 2025. The team has acquired an additional Porsche 992 GT3 Cup and will start the new season with three cars. The core line-up remains unchanged compared to a year ago, consisting of Sam Jongejan and Jules Grouwels.

Jongejan made his full-season Carrera Cup Benelux debut with RaceArt last year and immediately impressed with a class win and overall podium during the season opener at Spa-Francorchamps. He further turned heads by scoring pole position outright during the JACK’s Racing Day event at TT Circuit Assen and only missed out on the title in the Rookie class during the final day of the season. His strong performances behind the wheel of the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup also earned him an invitation to compete in the Michelin 24H Dubai, which he successfully completed.

Sam Jongejan: “I am super happy to continue with Team RaceArt. We will continue where we left off and can build on the knowledge we gained in our first season together. I feel more competitive than ever and believe I can compete for the overall championship with RaceArt. RaceArt feels like family and it's nice to come home again!”

Jongejan will again have team regular Grouwels alongside him next season. Grouwels emerged as a serious contender for the Pro-Am title last season, racking up consistent victories and podiums and only missing out on the title on the final day.

Jules Grouwels: “I am very much looking forward to the new season again. Last year I learned a lot, but small mistakes cost us the championship in Pro-Am. This year we will work flat out to prepare to be right there from the start.”

Jongejan and Grouwels will have a new teammate next season. RaceArt is expanding its presence in Carrera Cup Benelux to three cars and hopes to compete for podiums and victories even better this way. The driver for the third Porsche will be announced at a later date.

The 2025 calendar is set to take the team to four familiar circuits and one new venue. The Hungaroring, best known as the home of Formula 1’s Hungarian Grand Prix, makes its debut on the calendar and will present RaceArt with a new challenge: the team has never competed there before.

The rest of the season will take place on familiar grounds, with a kick-off at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps as part of the support package for the FIA World Endurance Championship on May 6-8. The championship also visits Zandvoort twice (once as part of the DTM weekend at the seaside circuit) and the Carrera Cup Benelux traditionally forms part of the JACK's Racing Day event at TT Circuit Assen in August. Circuit Zolder, the team's unofficial home circuit located just over 30 minutes from Maastricht, also returns.

Marwin Moonen, team manager: “We look forward to being on the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux grid again in 2025. Our return to the series went well last season. We immediately showed our ability to compete at the front and achieved good results. The only thing missing was a championship title, so that’ll be our target for next year. We are happy to continue working with Sam for another year. He had a strong first year and competed for the Rookie title until the very end. With that in mind, the target for this season is clear: to fight for wins and podiums overall. We will undertake an extensive training programme with Sam, in order for him to be as strong as possible at the start of the season. Jules also impressed last season, so there too we hope to continue the upward trend. Finally, the expansion to three cars serves to express our confidence in the championship. It will be a nice challenge, one we take on with great confidence.”
