Maastricht, 4 May 2026 – Team RaceArt stands on the eve of a milestone season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux. Off the back of a pair of successful test days, the Maastricht-based squad kicks off its title defence this weekend at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

For Team RaceArt, the 2025 season will go down in the history books as one of the most successful in the team’s history. With its efforts spearheaded by Jaap van Lagen, the team secured the titles in the overall, Pro-Am and team classifications.

Two of the three titles will be defended this year as Van Lagen returns as reigning champion in the No. 69 Porsche 992 GT3 Cup, joined in a three-car effort by rookie teammates Joep Breedveld and Arthur Peters as the team also seeks to defend the teams’ crown.

Breedveld and Peters both became champions at GT4 level last year in the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland and Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux, respectively. They are making their debut in Carrera Cup Benelux and were able to prepare thoroughly for the step up during the official test days.

Across two days, with one at Zandvoort and one at Spa-Francorchamps, Peters and Breedveld covered a combined total of over 1,200 kilometres. The aim was to get familiar with a new car, clock up valuable mileage and establish a working relationship with the RaceArt crew. On both days, Van Lagen primarily took on a supporting role. The Porsche veteran also drove a number of laps at Spa-Francorchamps in preparation for his title defence.

“This Carrera Cup season has got off to a brilliant start,” Breedveld recalled. “Zandvoort, during the first test day, was an excellent opportunity to get to know the car a bit better. Thanks to Jaap van Lagen’s help, my driving technique kept getting better and better. Then we went to Spa and that went absolutely brilliantly. It had been just over six months since I last drove at Spa, but after a few warm-up laps, the pace was spot on straight away.  Together with my engineer Bavo, we were able to make a lot of improvements. We ironed out a few small inconsistencies and it’s looking really good. I really can’t wait for the first race in two weeks’ time. At Spa too, where we’ve now finished on a positive note. Together with RaceArt, the package is simply superb. Not just the collaboration with the engineer, but also with the mechanic in terms of set-up. RaceArt is really putting together a fantastic package this year and I hope to get the best out of it in the first race.”

Peters: “Looking back on the two days of testing, I think we’ve made really good progress. At Zandvoort, it was mainly about the big switch from GT4 to the GT3 Cup car, but we made good progress throughout the day. That was certainly because of the collaboration with Ward, my engineer, and with Jaap. I learnt a lot from Jaap and got a better idea of what the car is capable of. Things went even better at Spa. By then I already had a better feel for the car and felt even more comfortable. I looked at a lot of data together with Ward, sitting down together after every session. That really helped me. Overall, I’m very satisfied, including with the collaboration with the team. We tried out a lot of things with the setup. I’m sure there’s still more to come, but I’m actually very pleased with the test days.

Following the opening race at Spa-Francorchamps, the remaining rounds will take place at Zandvoort (22–24 May), Imola (3–5 July), Assen (31 July–2 August), Hockenheim (13–13 September) and Zolder (16–18 October).
